Firefighting forces on the ground have been reinforced, while two firefighting aircraft started dropping water since the early hours of Wednesday morning.

37 fire engines, 135 firefighters and eight teams of firefighters on foot as well as two firefighting aircraft are battling the blaze.
The fire that extends to 4 km has burned mostly stands of cane in the march land and some pine trees.
The fire broke out on Tuesday for reasons unknown so far.
The protected forest of Strofylia, one of the largest in Europe, has a total area of 2,200 hectares, is home to Pinus Pinea and has an ecosystem with a huge biodiversity.
