In a statement the HAB said that :banks are stepping up measures to protect workers and customers following the imposition of a temporary restrictive measure to reduce the risk of COVID-19 coronavirus spreading.”
The following transactions will not be performed in bank branches with physical presence:
1. Cash withdrawals of up to EUR 400 are made exclusively using a debit card at ATMs.
2. Cash deposits of up to € 1,000 are made at ATMs using a debit card.
3. Payments of third party bills (public service, energy, water, telecommunication, pay-TV, insurance, etc.) are paid through internet / mobile banking or at ATMs and APSs. Cash payments will not be served to the bank branches network.
4. Accounts (transactions and balances) are updated via internet / mobile banking or ATMs. Savings booklet updates will not be made on the bank branches network.
The HAB recommends that citizens use their bank’s debit card and passwords for online transactions with the banks they cooperate with.
