An explosive device went off at the political office of Greek health Minister Andreas Loverdos in Athens downtown near Syntagma Square. Unidentified culprits put an explosive device at the stairway leading to the first floor of the building at Appolonos Street, where the Minister has his office.
Police and firebrigades rushed to the spot, the anti-terror department is due to take the investigation over.
The explosion that occurred at 5:43 pm on Friday caused minor material damages. Nobody was injured. The Minister was not at his office at the time of the explosion.
No organization has claimed responsibility so far.
