Athens Metro, Tram, Urban Train, Trains & Proastiakos: Work-Stoppage & Strike (Dec19/20/2012)

Workers at Athens Metro, Tram and urban train ISAP (HSAP) will launch a work stoppage on December 19th and a 24-hour strike on December 20th 2012. The work stoppage will take place from 5-9 a.m. on Wednesday, the day private sector union ADEDY has called for a strike.

The workers had already warned of strikes even during the Christmas season if they would not be expempted from the new payroll for all civil servants.

Also OSE trains and Proastiakos will launch a 48-hour strike on December 19th and 20th 2012. Therefore the Metro will stop at <Doukissis Plakentias> station and will not operate until/from Athens Airport.

  1. Isn’t this becoming the common theme? Unions are striking until they are exempted from the new tax structure. After all the parliamentary workers did it, and look what happened? They got their exemption. What is going to happen if all of the public servants strike until they get their exemption?

    • they will all get exempted and the dudes for average citizens will pay the price of loans and austerity. As it happens now.
