A powerful tremor shook Athens, although the epicenter of the earthquake was 116 km North-East from the Greek capital, in Istiaia, in Euboea. The tremor measured 4.9 on the Richter scale and occurred at 8:09 p.m. local time.
Epicentre: Oraioi between Istiaia and Aidipsos
The tremor was originally given as 4.8R but it was later corrected to 4.9R.
According to preliminary reports, the earthquake occurred 10km deep.
There are no reports about injuries or material damage, so far, that is 20 minutes after the earthquake.
PS My office desk moved, my pc screen too, a floor lamp was shaken, I was wondering who is pushing my chair, the tremor last quite long (not as short as usual) but the cat continued her sleep.
