Confidential Report: German security authorities accuse Greece of Refugees’ Misery

German security authorities consider that Greece has totally failed in dealing with the refugee crisis. Didn’t you know that? If you didn’t know, at least you had certainly a …certain suspicion. But now it is officially confirmed through a confidential report and sources that speak on condition of anonymity. Of course.

According to German weekly’s Der Spiegel online edition and the confidential report  conducted by security officials at the “Joint Analysis- and Strategy-Centre for Illegal Migration”(GASIM), many asylum seekers, including children, in Greece are homeless and live in “precarious conditions”.

“German security authorities describe the local conditions for refugees as  “not humane“. And even worse: “These conditions were possibly politically even wanted because they lead the migrants “to leave Greece as soon as possible towards other EU Member States“, the report notes.

The reasons for this is the slow procedures of the Greek authorities when it comes to granting asylum. “From the 300 working places in the office of the Greek Asylum Agency, only 128 are occupied by so-called Decision-Makers,” the GASIM report says, adding: “As a result, it comes to very long waiting times for the refugees, for some processing of applications for asylum would last several years.

Greek authorities are in not particular hurry

However during this time, the people would receive neither financial nor material support in order to cope with their every day life,” so the Gasim experts. The refusal rate for asylum applications is 75 percent in Greece and this is considerably higher than in many other EU countries. Unaccompanied minors would also “be detained under prison conditions“, the German security authorities note.

The Greek Embassy in Berlin did not answer a question to the issue, so far. unanswered” Der Spiegel Online partly concludes its report on the ‘inhumane living conditions for refugees and migrants in Greece.

It is not clear whether the GASIM officials visited Greece for field work or they got their information form the internet and media websites.

But what is GASIM?

GASIM is apparently a super surveillance center that follows the developments in the Refugee Crisis, a center where many German authorities like the Federal Police, the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Office for Migration & Refugees, the Protection of the Constitution, the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Intelligence Service are involved.

One may wonder what is the purpose of publishing such a confidential report leakage though anonymous sources? The answer is rather simple and very obvious: it has to do with the German Refugees- and Migrants-policy that wants to send people from Morocco, Algeria and Tunesia from Germany back to their countries of origin.

Therefore, the Gasim report and Der Spiegel stress:

“According to the Gasim report, a large number of North Africans reached Greece lately. Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians declare upon their arrival there [in Greece] to have come from Iraq or Syria. Their goal is to achieve a Greek registration certificate, which will enable them to continue their journey on the Balkan route.”

Der Spiegel reminds of the “at least two of the assassins of Paris who had been declared as refugees in Greece and were able to move on.”

I wouldn’t know that there were more than the two Paris terrorists, where in fact only one has been identified as such. But maybe Der Spiegel has more information on this subject and keeps it hidden for unknown reasons and purposes.

However, what is known and obvious is that Berlin is trying now to blame Greece also for the presence of ‘economic migrants’ – maybe politically persecuted people? – from North Africa on the holy German soil where the compassionate German authorities are making no difference between Refugees and Migrants (if we stick to the language of the article and the report) and have an open heart for all.

What is also clear is that

the World would be damned empty without the Greeks and that the European Union in general and Berlin in particular would have to invent the Greeks in these modern times of scapegoats creation.

Without the Greeks, some people – some Der Spiegel journalists incl – may have been without a job.

Berlin does not need to waste its taxpayers’ money for such a ‘research (?) result where 6 institutions need to be involved to write down an outdated report of Refugees misery summarizing policy of more than 3 decades. The truth lies on every Greek street, where even cats know more about the Greek Asylum Law,  about the movement of refugees to FYROM, about the fefugees and migrants situation in the cities or the islands.

Our youngest kitten, 9 months old, asked me the other day how is the situation in the official/unofficial migration centers across the country and how the volunteers’ organizations are coping with the issue.

PS I would write an accurate and updated report (Jan 2015- Jan 2016) for Gasim & the Spiegel for 20 ten-kilo sacks of food for ferals. Oh, and a bottle of Kirschwasser of astrein quality 🙂

  1. GASIM is not a serious research institution, and it possesses precisely no expertise at all on Greece. Even its expertise on Germany is highly suspect. Don’t ask me how I know, but I know a lot about it.

And yes, its function is political: to assist the politicians in making top-level decisions. What a pity that they don’t have top-level researchers working there (the pay is low, even by Greek standards).

  2. In the times of this outdated statistics 95% of all arrested refugees in Greece were arrested in Western Greece while trying to leave. Also always funny that these articles nobody seems to read as the contradiction is obvious: “Hey Schatzi, how can they know the terrorists as Greece doesn’t register?”
Anyway it’s Mouzalas’ job to campaign against this picture painters or a PR-agency
