The United States of America have been subjects of the prophecies of Elder Paisios, the Saint of Mount Athos, and other Greek orthodox Elders. Their prophecies get a new meaning especially after Donald Trump and his anti-systemic ideas and promises pushed him in the White House.
Elder Paisios told a visiting US-senator of Greek origin during the war in Yugoslavia (1991) that “there would be peace in the world, if there were no Americans.”
Another Elder, Papa-Yiannis (1925-2009) prophetic that “America will feed the world and in the end it will collapse. It will cease to be a Superpower. Russia will be the Superpower.”
Elder Paisios or Saint Paisios of Mount Athos (1924–1994), was a well-known Greek Eastern Orthodox ascetic from Mount Athos. He was respected for his spiritual guidance and ascetic life and many people worldwide highly venerate Elder Paisios, especially in Greece and in Russia.
A number of controversial political statements and prophecies have been credited to Elder Paisios. These include the prediction that a war between Turkey and Russia will lead to a restoration of a Greater Greece, including Albania, Macedonia, and Byzantium (Istanbul), and the mass conversion of Turks from Islam to Orthodox Christianity.
