Guaido calls on Tsipras to visit Venezuela to see economic situation first hand

Venezuela’s self-proclaimed president, Juan Guaido, has called on Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to visit his country “for one week and witness the state of economy first hand” and stop supporting Nicolas Maduro.

In an exclusive interview with private Skai TV on Monday, Guaido called on Tsipras or any other government member to visit Venezuela”visit schools, hospitals and pharmacies or to live for a week on the wage the Venezuelans earn.”

He underlined that poverty in his country is above 83% and that the minimum wage is equivalent to 3 US Dollars per month. “this is not poverty, this is misery,” Guaido said.

Further he called on Greece to side with the European Union in putting pressure on Maduro to hold free and fair elections soon.

He described the approach of the Greek government as “worrying” saying it is most probably due to “misinformation.”

Guaido’s invitation comes a week after ruling party SYRIZA issued a statement expressing support for the “legitimate President Maduro.”

In a statement issued on January 26, the EU called for the “urgent holding of free, transparent and credible presidential elections in accordance with internationally democratic standards and the Venezuelan constitutional order.”

If Maduro doesn’t comply with this demand, the EU said it “will take further actions, including on the issue of recognition of the country’s leadership in line with article 233 of the Venezuelan constitution.”

Athens backed the EU proposal after some initial reservations.

  1. Tspras would like 83% of Greeks to live in poverty so he and his 17% could live like kings.. If he accepts this invertation it will be to see how Maduro gets away with it, not to support the people.
Ps KTG HAS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE, NO COMMENT AND A CHANGE OF View point, .Also bad web access.

  2. Guaidó is nothing but a stooge for Washington and Venezuela’s Spanish elite. He, like all politicians, doesn’t give a d-mn about his people. To paraphrase Clinton: it’s the petroleum, stupid! And nothing else. Governments aren’t concerned about human rights or the people’s welfare. Big AG, big Pharma, big Petro, big Banks + Insurance and the military are running every Western government. Politicians bow down and obey, that’s all.
