Greece’s Civil Protection and the Fire Service warn of “very high risk” of wildfires on Sunday, June 30, 2019, due to powerful winds.
Affected are the regions of Attica, Biotia, Evia,Skyros (Sporades), Corinth, Argolida and Lakonia in Peloponnese, Kythera, the Cyclades islands, Crete, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria
The risk of wildfires will be also “very high” on Monday, July 1.
Regions affected: Attika, Viotia, Evia, Skyros, Lesvos, Chios, Peloponnese, Kythera.

Authorities urge citizens to avoid outdoor activities that could trigger wildfires.
In a press release, the Greek National Meteorological Service EMY warns of powerful North winds up to 8 Beaufort.

At the same time, the north winds help temperatures at a bearable level.
Meteorologists forecast a Heat Wave for the upcoming week, with temperatures to reach 39°- 41° Celsius.
