Greece’s health authorities announced 35 new coronavirus cases and one death on Tuesday. The total number of infections rises to 387 and that of deaths to 5.
70 people are hospitalized.
11 patients are intubated in designated hospitals in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras. All are men with average age 69.
For 60 infected patients the source of contamination has not been located.
14 people have been discharged from hospitals.
The patient who died on Tuesday was a 67-year-old man hospitalized in Athens. He was suffering also form other health issues.
All five patients who passed away were men.
From all confirmed cases:
- 11 are in age group 0-17
- 59 aged 18-39
- 132 aged 40-64
- 185 aged over 65
There have been “severe cases that have been showed improvement,” spokesman of the National Health Organization, Sotiris Tsiodras, said.
A total of 4,900 coronavirus tests have been conducted since the beginning of the outbreak.
