Greece’s Public Power Corporation PPC/DEH is proceeding with discounts in order to help businesses and private persons suffering from the economic effects of the coronavirus outbreak.
Starting on Thursday, March 26, 2020, and for the next three months, the PPC offers:
cancels the fixed charges for low-voltage customers category Γ1 and Γ1Ν, businesses Γ21, Γ22 and Γ23, as well as for ‘farmers’.
8% discount to people over 70 years old or to those with serious medical problems
8% discount for low-voltage consumers with a consumption of over 2,000 kilowatt hours for a period of four-months so that they do not have to pay extra for the time they spend at home
€2.5-€5 discount to “e-bill” old and new customers as incentive for online payments. 5 euro for 2-month bills, 2.5 euros for monthly bills.
Customers can call for questions including payments of debt-settlements at PPC call center <11770> in operation extended hours 7:00 am – 9:00 pm or via DEH website also in English.
The PPC said in a statement that the discounts are thought to express solidarity during the tough times.
The company has reportedly responded to a call by the Energy Minister.
According to media reports, also other private power suppliers prepare discount measures for the economic relief of their customers during the times of the coronavirus crisis.
