Intercity Athens-Thessaloniki to resume service on May 18, says TrainOSE

Intercity trains between Athens and Thessaloniki will resume service on Monday, May 18, 2020, train operator TRAINOSE announced on Thursday.

As preventive travelling restrictions against the coronavirus are gradually being lifted, eight trains in total will presently restart the popular service – four on either end of the route, the company noted.

Also as of next Monday, another four trains will be re-launched on the route between Thessaloniki and Florina, as well as the local routes on the route linking Larissa and Volos.

TrainOSE stressed that all the necessary measures have been taken to protect passengers’ health, including free on-board antiseptics and regular disinfection of all carriages.

The company urges passengers to issue their tickets online in order to avoid crowding at the train stations.
