Coronavirus tests conducted on travellers who arrived in Greece directly from the United Kingdom on the first two days had negative results. Only two tests were positive but these two passengers from London came to Greece via transit airports.
Direct flights from the UK were allowed on July 15.
Health authorities conducted 1,366 tests on July 15 and 1,437 tests on July 17 on passengers who arrived from several UK cities, including Birmingham and Manchester, areas with high epidemiological loads.
The transit travellers who arrived from London through Paris, France, and Larnaca, Cyprus, were tested positive. They have been isolated and authorities have traced their contacts.
Health teams will continue to conduct mass coronavirus-tests on UK arrivals and will announce the results in the coming days, state-run news agency amna reports on Saturday.
PS one may wonder why Greek authorities felt the need to publish the test-results of UK travellers. I suppose, because Greeks were concerned and because there has been a constant increase of infections in the country since beginning of the month.
Compliments to the Greek Authorities to publish and be as transparent as possible…So much misinformation and twisted journalism around these days, it is just nice to read straightforward information!❤️❤️
