Over 41°C on Monday

Yesterday, Monday, the highest temperatures were recorded in areas of the Peloponnese, Central Greece and Thessaly, where the mercury reached or exceeded 41°C.

At the same time, high temperatures in urban areas significantly burden the micro-climate, with asphalt and building surfaces developing temperatures that far exceed those of the air.

The same conditions significantly increase the risk of fires starting and spreading.
