Greece has expressed its full solidarity and revulsion over the heinous attacks in Nice and Avignon on Thursday. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a post on Twitter  that he was appalled by the terrorist attack in Nice and expressed his solidarity with the people in France.

“I am profoundly shocked by the terrorist attack in Nice. Full solidarity with France. We are united,” the Greek PM wrote.

Also on Twitter, the Foreign Ministry expressed its revulsion over the attack.

“We express our revulsion at the heinous attack on Nice. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and our full solidarity with the people and government of France. We are united against violence and hatred,” the statement said.
Deeply shocked by the horrible attack in Nice. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and express our full solidarity with the government and the people of France. We are united against violence and hate,” The Ministry posted on Twitter.

At least three people were killed and several others were wounded in a knife attack near a church in the French city of Nice on Thursday morning, authorities said, in what the city’s Mayor said pointed to a terror attack.

One woman was beheaded in the attack while at least two other people were killed at the Basilica of Notre-Dame in Nice.

Nice’s mayor told reporters at the scene that the perpetrator had shouted the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar”, or God is greatest while carrying out the attack.

Hours after the Nice attack, police killed a man who threatened passersby with a handgun while shouting “Allahu Akbar” in Montfavet, near the city of Avignon. (story here)

In less than 2 months, I’ll most likely be celebrating Christmas with some relatives & even friends. Wishing them a joyful occasion.

Today, I stand in solidarity with the Free Democratic Independent Citizens of sovereign France as they mourn the horrific attack in #Nice. No words can undo the loss of lives but with collective action against violence & crimes including acts of terrorism, we can show that the rule of law, justice, equal and open & transparent justice and unity will overcome such criminal vehemence and zealotry & fanaticism.
