A new cold weather front with heavy rainfalls and storms, snowfalls even at low altitudes, gale-force winds up to 8-9 Beaufort and temperature drop of up to 12 degrees Celsius reached the western parts of Greece on Tuesday morning.
The wave of bad weather, which will grip the entire country on Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 26-27, 2021) is expected bring snowfalls even at low altitudes in northern Greece, heavy rain in most parts of the country, significant temperature drop of up to 12°C in 8 to 12 hours and gale-force winds at sea.
On Tuesday evening, snow is expected at low altitudes in central and northern parts of the country and the islands of northern Aegean. There is also a possibility intermittent snow at low altitudes in some parts of Central Greece and the Western Peloponnese.

Tuesday, Jan 26: Locally heavy rainfalls and storms in Epirus, Western Macedonia, gradually in West and Central Sterea, West Peloponnese, temporarily in Thessaly, East Sterea, Evia and East Peloponnese.
From afternoon: North and East Aegean Sea, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

Winds
Locally strong gale-force south-western winds in the Aegean Sea and north-western winds in the Ionian Sea as of Tuesday afternoon.
Snowfalls
Snowfalls initially in the mountainous areas and gradually even at low altitudes in the North.
From Tuesday night until the morning hours of Wednesday, dense snowfalls in eastern Macedonia and Thrace (mainly Evros) even in lowlands. Also on the islands of North Aegean Sea, parts of Western Sterea and Western Peloponnese even at low altitudes.
Temperature drop
Significant temperature drop from the evening hours of Tuesday in the North.
The drop of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius will be felt across the whole country on Wednesday.
