Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday, 2633 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 45 more deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubations decreased to 479.
Death toll has reached 6,886. Total confirmed infections since the begin of the pandemic a year ago: 212,133.
Note that some 8,000 fewer PCR and Rapid tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
At the Live Briefing on Wednesday, Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias said that 3,787 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized across the country.
He stressed that “185 new admissions to hospitals in Athens were recorded on Tuesday” and reiterated his appeal to private doctors to assist the public health care system with temporary contracts.
He added that a total of 1,182,082 vaccinations have been conducted. Coverage rate: 7.62% of population with one dose and 3.64% with both doses.

According to the official bulletin on Wednesday, based on the confirmed cases on the last 7 days, 69 are related to travel abroad and 2312 are related to already known cases.
The released data do not allow any more the clues about the rate of infections without known source of contamination.
51.7% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 477 from 484 a day earlier. Their average age is 67, among them 66.0% are men. 85.0% have underlying health problems and/or are aged over 70.
New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals are 443 (daily change +13.59%). Average number of hospital admissions in 7 days: 389.
Average age of infected is 44 ( age range 0.2-105).
1445 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 43 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 6,886. The average age of the deceased was 79 (age range 16-103). and 95.7% had underlying health problem and/or was over 70 years old.

Greece is struggling vaccinations are not available and the PM is willing to risk lives by opening up to most infected Countries for Tourists
Rather than support its workforce by vaccination or by financial support yes they need tourism but hardly fair to lockdown the whole Country
And then open up for tourists money more important than local lives.
