One police officer was slightly injured when a crowd of angry youngsters threw stones at a patrol vehicle called to disperse a so-called ‘spontaneous corona-party.’
The incident took place near the Tae Kvo Do stadium in Palaio Faliro, southern Athens around 9:30 Sunday night, short after the night curfew 9 pm – 5 am went into force.
Two police cars were reportedly dispatched to the area responding to reported violation of lockdown rules.
When they arrived, a group of youths hurled stones at the vehicles.
One police officer was slightly injured by broken glass.
Greeks in general and young ones in particularly are literally fed up with the 5-month-long lockdown and often weird restrictions that drive everyone mad.

The public prosecutor of the city in northern Greece launched an investigation on Monday.
Greece’s Civil Protection authorities have imposed a 9 p.m.-5 a.m. curfew since November 2020 to prevent crowding at parks and other public places as one of the measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.
This and another restrictions, however, have not brought the wished results. On the contrary, Greece experiences a resurgence of the virus infections.
