A barometric low will move towards Greece bringing a weather deterioration over the weekend with rainfalls, powerful winds and high concentration of Sahara dust. The National Meteorological Service issued a warning for heavy rainfalls in central and northern Greece on Saturday.
According to weather forecast by the National Observatory of Athens, the deterioration is expected from Friday to Sunday, April 22-24, 2021.

Rainfall are expected mainly in the West, Central and the North on Friday, April 23, while the rain weather will affect most of the country on Saturday, April 24. Gradually the rain phenomena will weaken and be limited to the East and the South on Sunday, April 25.
Friday noon the Greek National Meteorological Service issued a weather warning for Saturday regarding powerful rainfalls.
Areas affected on Saturday: Western and Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades, eastern Sterea and gradually Evia.
The phenomena are expected to weaken in the afternoon in Macedonia, evening in Thessaly and Stera and in the early Sunday morning hours in Evia and Sporades.
Powerful winds from East-Southeast are forecast on Friday in the Central and Southern Ionian Sea. From Saturday and mainly on Sunday North winds in the Aegean will strengthen significantly.
According to DUSTMeteo forecast system of the National Observatory of Athens Sahara dust concentration will be increased in the central and southern parts of Greece on Friday and Saturday.
