Daily coronavirus infections rose again in Greece after authorities carried out again a high number of molecular PCR and Rapid tests in the last 24 hours. Health authorities announced on Tuesday evening, 3197 new cases and the death of 52 more patients who died of complications of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated patients stands at 732.

There are 52 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 11,141. Of these, 95.5% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.
A total of 732 Covid-patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 67 years. 61.7% are men. 83.3% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.
2,201 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
294 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -23.24%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 364.
The median age of new infections is 44 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 79 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Given that the report the other day was 3000 children and teachers were a positive test using the self testing system, and that the new case figure across Greece yesterday was 1904 new cases.
Today’s figure,( which we know is always higher on a Tuesday because of more tests done.),of 3197, would suggest that the self testing is about as reliable as a handbrake on a canoe,
Or am I just imagining it.
Particularly in view of the false positives.
Unfortunately, it points to the manipulation of the numbers as if you added 3000 to the ‘normal’ 2000 ish then we should be seeing 5000 ish? but we are not ……….would they really risk lying for a green list place? If they were caught they would have to be red list all the way i guess.
Yes, but the close to 3000 negative subsequent PCRs helps keep the testing positivity rate down.
