Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued a weather warning on Saturday noon of heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds reaching up to 7 Beaufort. Particularly affected are the Ionian islands and western Peloponnese.
According to EMY’s warning heavy rains and thunderstorms will occur from the early morning hours of Sunday (12-09-2021) in the Ionian Islands, gradually in the western Peloponnese and possibly temporarily in western Sterea.



The intense weather phenomena are forecast to weaken in the afternoon hours.
Wind will be blowing with intensity 4-6 Beaufort and locally up to 7 B in the Ionian Sea and 3-5 B and up to 6 B in the Aegean Sea.
Temperature is forecast to reach 26-28 degrees Celsius in the West and 28-30 C in the East of the country.
