A 2-year-old toddler was left in a kindergarten school for over five hours in the seaside resort of Varkiza in south-eastern Athens. The girl’s parents filed a lawsuit against those in charge of the kindergarten, including the bus driver and those monitoring the children transfer.
The child is thought to have fallen asleep, while her absence from the kindergarten class went unnoticed.
The toddler was eventually freed after a passerby heard her sobbing and alerted the police. Officers found the child in a state of shock.
The girl’s parents filed a lawsuit against the driver, the bus monitors, their daughter’s teacher and the kindergarten’s manager and owner, who were arrested on Monday.
On Tuesday an public prosecutor in Athens ordered the release from custody of the five suspects accused of endangering the life of the toddle.
