Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday 2,978 new coronavirus cases and 22 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units decreased to 322.
A 20-month-old baby infected with Covid-19 is in the ICU of the hospital in Corinth, North-Eastern Peloponnese. Despite being intubated as local media reported, the baby is not included in the relevant EODY data.
According to official data by the National Network of Sewage Epidemiology (EDEL), there has been an increase in the viral load of the urban sewage in several cities and in the week September 20-26, 2021. Tested were reportedly 9 out of 12 cities.

There are 22 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims 14,751*. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 322 Covid-patients – from 323 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years. 63.4% are men. 82.3% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.
According to EODY among the intubated patients:
291 (90.37%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated
31 (9.63%) are fully vaccinated

3,141 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
145 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -13.69%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 181.

The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
