The Greek Health Ministry began with the requisition the services of pathologists, lung specialists and general practitioners of northern Greece in order to strengthen the national health system in the face of the pandemic.
A total of 90 doctors have been called to provide their services to hospitals treating Covid-19 from early Thursday morning..
The Medical Association of Thessaloniki has sharply criticized the requisition decision in hospitals of the city and the Central Macedonia.
In a statement the MATh said that the same mistakes as in the requisition of last October take place, stressing that requisition means that clinics have to suspend operation and noting that there is no provision for the accommodation and travel of those ordered to move outside the area of residence.
The Medical Association of Thessaloniki describes the whole procedure as “Waterloo.”

I wonder if the shortages have something to do with 6,000 front line health workers having been suspended without pay, amongst other things, the abject absurdity of the Greek government is something to behold.
