The Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE) announced on Monday it will be investigating the National Intelligence Service (EYP), along with units of the Hellenic Police.
In its statement, the regulator said in particular it would be investigating the police’s Special Violent Crime Squad and the Intelligence Division.
Although not mentioned in the statement, the investigations are related to the revelations concerning the phone tapping of a party leader’s cellphone and a separate attempt to infect his cellphone with spying software. [amna]
