An earthquake rattled with 5 on the Richter scale the island of Crete early Sunday morning.
According to Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake occurred at 7:04 and its epicenter was in the sea area 84 km south Goudoura in Lasithi, in the East of the island.
Its focal depth was 8 km.
The tremor was felt strongly, but no injuries or material damages have been reported.
Speaking to state broadcaster ERT, head of the Greek Earthquake Planning and Protection Agency, Efthimios Lekkas, appeared reassuring about the phenomenon.
