Workers at buses and trolley buses in Athens will launch a 5-hour work stoppage on Monday, April 3, 2023, to protest safety problems in the national rail network that led to the deadly train collision on February 28..
The work stoppage will start at 11:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
All other transport means in Athens including KTEL will operate as usual.
“Following the tragedy at Tempi, it is imperative that we ensure safe public transportation for the passengers and our colleagues by renewing the fleet and implementing the collective labor agreement,” the union said in a statement announcing the strike on Friday.
