Greek man and foreign national missing on Crete found

Τwo young men, a Greek and a foreigner, who have been missing since Tuesday in north-eastern Crete were found at a rocky outcrop by volunteers on Thursday morning.

The two men left with the lifeguard’s boat from the hotel where they worked in Hersonissos in order to reach the island of Dia, early on Tuesday.

In the sea area where they went missing, the weather was fair with no windy conditions.

Their relatives declared them missing after they failed to return or answer calls.

Coast Guard and police launched a search and rescue operation to which also ships and vessels sailing in the area were also alerted.

According to information from local media cretapost.gr, the two men are in good health. An ambulance transferred them to the hospital for preventive reasons.
