Outdoor work, including delivery services, is prohibited at the peak of the heat hours due to the extreme high temperatures on Wednesday, July 26 2023,
The ban applies to private sector from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and in regions where temperatures exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
These areas are: Attica, Thessaly, east Sterea and Peloponnese, Thrace, Central and East Macedonia, Crete, islands of the eastern Aegean Sea as well as the Cyclades, the Dodecanese and the Sporades islands.

The Ministry of Labor particularly stated that electronic delivery platforms are not allowed to accept delivery orders during these hours.
On Sunday, labor inspectors observed food delivery activities during the restricted hours, especially in areas heavily affected by the heat. It was discovered that the delivery platforms were accepting orders, contrary to the existing ban.
Labor Minister Adonis Georgiadis said on Monday that authorities will impose fines for non-compliance with the regulations.
He stressed that inspections will be conducted regularly, and substantial fines will be imposed for violations.
The measure published on Wednesday morning comes after the death of a delivery man on Friday and of a municipality worker on Sunday.

The “authorities” need to concentrate on railway operators etc.
So…you think it’s ok for delivery drivers to come to your place for 1 coffee in that heat? Or to bring you lazy person a pizza or whatever? And getting no tip from you? If you’re a catlover, as your name says, I feel very very sorry for your cats in this heat…
