Police arrests Kurdish man, recruiter to PKK

Greek Police has arrested a 35-year-old Turkish national of Kurdish origin against whom there was a European arrest warrant. The man is allegedly a PKK recruiter.

He was arrested during a routine check in Exarchia district of Athens on Tuesday nigh.

The man had been sentenced to two years in prison by French authorities for recruiting members into the militant Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

At the time of his arrest, the 35-year-old was accompanied by two fellow Kurds and a Belgian woman. They were also brought to local police station, but they were reportedly later released.
