  1. Looking at how people drive here, without any consideration to others, I am surprised these figures are not higher.
Why aren’t there any police out on the roads booking people for not obeying the road rules? I am flabbergasted at how inconsiderate and idiotic drivers are here.
I could go on and on but what’s the point, nothing ever changes here.

    • I agree. I visit Greece twice / year with my wife (who is from Athens) and have always been shocked at how oittle traffic ‘control’ exists. I’m not suggesting that there should be police everywhere, but some basic traffic law enforcement would reduce the number of deaths (assuming that Greeks care about that). Also, the cars that park in crosswalks and on sidewalks make it very dangerous to walk around, such a basic ‘right’ in the cities. And, when cars park in crosswalks, a driver can’t see if anyone is coming and must pull out just to see the road. Very dangerous. If such basic enforcements don’t exist, no wonder the other laws are so poorly enforced. Poor Oliver, for example. Shame on Greece.
