An earthquake rattled with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scald the island of Corfu early Friday morning. Intense seismic activity in the area.
The earthquake occurred at 7:20 a.m. in the sea area 34.7 km South-West of the island in the Ionian Sea and at a focal depth of 10 km.

No injuries or material damages have been reported.
Prior to the 4.7R, a 3.5 R tremor had shaken the island in the early morning hours. Its epicenter was again in the sea area, 20 km South-South-West off the island of Othonoi and at a focal depth of 9.6 km.
The seismic activity in the area continues, however, seismologists appear reassuring.
