Ferries, ships to remain docked at Greece’s ports due to strike

Ferries and ships will remain docked at Greece’s port on May 1st, 2024, following a decision by the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) to participate in a 24-hour, nationwide strike called by the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE).

The strike affects all categories of ships in the country and starts at 00:001 next Wednesday, ending at 24:00 of the same day.

In addition to marking international Labour Day, the union said the strike was held to demand jobs for unemployed sailors, eradication of undeclared and uninsured employment and the implementation of collective labor agreements and other demands. (source: naftermporiki.gr)
