Two yachts sank in Marina Zeas in Piraeus and a third one was extensively damaged, after a fire broke out late on Thursday. One firefighter has been hospitalized due to breathing issues.
The Coast Guard evacuated ten people from the pier.
The fire broke out in one of the yachts and quickly spread to the other two.
One more yacht, a commercial tourist vessel, was extensively damaged.
According to media reports, the fire started on the tourist vessel and rapidly spread to the yachts.

Eyewitnesses reported explosions during the incident and that black smoke had covered the sky over the port city of Piraeus.
26 firefighters with 10 engines rushed to the area, assisted by 3 coastguard boats and one vessel of the Fire Service.

The area in the port has been cordoned off.
The Coast Guard has placed a floating barrier to prevent possible sea pollution.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
