Very high risk of wildfires is forecast for four islands in the north-eastern Aegean Sea on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the Civil Protection has warned.
Very high risk of wildfires (category 4) is for the regional units of Samos, Ikaria (and Fournoi) and Chios in the North Aegean Region, according to Fire Risk Forecast Map of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
General Secretariat for Civil Protection has informed the relevant state agencies to be on high alert for civil protection in order to respond promptly to any wildfire incidents.
It also advises citizens to be particularly cautious and avoid actions in the outdoors that could cause a fire.
