Two men have been arrested in Herakleio, Crete, for the brutal assault of a Greek-Canadian man one and a half month earlier.
The men, aged 31 and 32, have been hiding in unknown location all this time.
They surrendered to a local police station on Monday afternoon and were immediately arrested as arrest warrants had been issued against them as police were able to identify them with the help of CCTV footage.
The 49-year-old Greek Canadian man was brutally beaten outside a bar on July 16th. Together with his wife and their three children , the family was enjoying a night out. The man underwent several surgeries due to severe head injuries.
The two men from Gazi in Zogiana were taken to court in Heraklio early afternoon on Tuesday and were granted permission to testify by upcoming Saturday, local media reported.
