Dockworkers prevent container container with ammunition for Israel to leave Piraeus port

COSCO dockworkers prevented a container full of ammunition destined for Israel from being loaded onto a ship bound for the port of Haifa on Thursday night.

The ship was supposed to enter Piraeus port to load the container, which contained cargo that had arrived in Greece from North Macedonia.

“We make it clear that any other effort made by the government, by COSCO or by anyone who wants to stain their hands with blood will not have the workers as accomplices,” said Markos Bekris, president of the ENEDEP COSCO dockworkers union and the Piraeus Labor Center. inviting the working class of Piraeus, the youth, unions and agencies to gather at the entrance of the COSCO.

Participants in the action were members of the Labor Center of Piraeus and trade unions representing Attica metal workers, shipwrights and shipbuilding industry workers, Piraeus organizations, young people and workers, under the slogan “Freedom to Palestine.”
