The reduced-rate off-peak electricity tariff is to switch to a winter schedule as of Friday, 1. November 2024, the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A announced on Thursday.
Under the winter schedule, cheaper rates are charged between 02:00 to 08:00 and between 15:00-17:00 for customers connected to the mainland grid, including interconnected islands, and during the hours of 02:00-08:00 and 15:30-17:30 for customers of the non-interconnected islands.
For existing customers with a residential off-peak tariff using a time-based charging meter the existing hours from 23:00 to 07:00 will continue to apply.
This residential off-peak tariff option will no longer be offered to new customers, however, and will only apply for existing customers who already have it.
Older customers can switch to the new interrupted scheduled if they wish but cannot then return to the old 23:00-7:00 schedule.
