Explosion in Athens: Evidence hints to domestic terrorism

The explosion killed a man,estimated to be 30-35 years old, seriously injured a 32-year-old woman and completely destroyed the apartment in the 3rd floor of a residential building.
Police has not identified yet the man whose body was dismembered by the powerful explosion.
The injured woman, who was in proximity to the device, belonged to the anti-authoritarian scene and was under surveillance by the state Security in the past, media reported. She had allegedly attacked a university rector.
On Friday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed  that the woman has been identified but was not yet able to provide a statement due to her injuries.
Meanwhile,  anti-terrorism officers have identified another woman who  according to neighbors, frequently visited the apartment and seemed to have her own set of keys.
The apartment owner had reportedly assigned his son with the managing of the apartment. The son, who is currently residing in the Netherlands, had rented the apartment to the couple.
Neighbors told media that the apartment was frequently visited by young people aged 20 to 30.
Anti-terror units continue the investigation evaluating also material from security cameras in the area and awaiting the results of forensic examination of the guns and other findings. The weapons have been sent to Police’s  forensic labs for ballistic testing to determine if they have been used in any criminal activities.
The big question is: what was the target of the explosive device?
When investigation is concluded, the statics of the building are to be checked.
