The entire metro line in Thessaloniki has been interrupted since 11:30 on Friday morning. Traffic on both tracks has been halted due to a technical issue that has not specified yet.
All passengers who were on the trains at that time disembarked without problems, according to what the company reported.
“Services are not operating along the entire length of Line 1,” the Thessaloniki metro website noted.
The time when the problem will be restored has not been announced yet.

UPDATE: Two hours later, the managing company announced that the metro operation was fully restored, however, without clarifying the cause of the problem.
After decades of delays the metro in Thessaloniki was inaugurated on November 30, 2024. Ever since there have been minor to bigger problems in its operation.
