A Dutch tourist was found dead in a 300-meter-deep ravine below the Beloi location in the Vikos Gorge in Zagori, north-western Greece, on Friday.
The woman was hiking together with her husband who reported her missing on Thursday morning and had called the international emergency line <112> asking for help.
The Fire Department’s Drone Team searched the entire area, which is difficult to access and rocky, since early this morning.
A Search And Rescue operation started at noon on Thursday, while a Team from the Fire Department search the entire area with drones on Friday morning.
The area where the woman was located is difficult to access and rocky.
The Dutch couple was vacationing in the area with a caravan.
Yesterday they visited Beloi and, as the husband said, he lost sight of his 65-year-old wife within a few minutes, when he was taking photos of the landscape.
Crews of the EMAK Rescuers laid roped and descended into ravine to retrieve the body of the woman.
