A motorist driving against the traffic flow on Corinth-Patras new national road collided head-on with another vehicle. The wrong-way driver was charred on the spot. One passenger of the vehicle died, another is hospitalized, seriously injured.
It was around 8 o’ clock on Thursday evening when the car of a 70-year-old local woman collided with a large agricultural vehicle.
The car flipped three times in the air landing back on the road and burst into flames. Rescuers could only retrieve her charred body.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman appeared to have lost her orientation as she made a U-turn and drove for at least one kilometer on the wrong lane in opposite direction.
The two men on the farm vehicle were injured and transported to a hospital, where one of them, a 54-year-old, succumbed to his injuries. The second man has suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized on Friday.
Wrong-way driving is not an unusual phenomenon in Greece, however, motorists seem to have escaped the fatal consequences.
