Stefanos Duskos wins Gold in World Rowing Championships

Greek Olympic champion Stefanos Duskos claimed the gold medal in Men’s Single Sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai.

The 28-year-old athlete wrote ‘history’ for the Greek rowing as he became the first rower to bring a gold medal to Greece in the men’s single sculls at the World Championships.

The Greek champion made an amazing race to climb to the top step of yet another podium, even making his final attack in the last 1000 meters.

Duskos executed a well-planned race strategy, holding third place through the first 500 metres of the men’s single sculls final and moving into second at the 1,000-metre mark. He then launched a decisive attack, taking the lead at 1,500 meters, and crossed the finish line first, with a time of 6 minutes 36.75 seconds.

Stefanos Duskos dedicated his medal to all Greeks!
