Panagiotis Karaiskos in the men’s race and Matina Noula in the women’s race entered the Panathinaikos Stadium first are champions for the second time in their careers at the 42nd Authentic Athens Marathon.
Karaiskos was the first to arrive at Kallimarmaro Stadium in Athens and cross the finish line with a new record of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 10 seconds.
Matina Noula was the winner of the womens’ race with 2 hours 39 minutes and 28 seconds.
Over 24,000 athletes from 126 countries participated in the 42. Authentic Athens Marathon, while the total number of participants in the shorter races over the weekend were about 70,000.
