The union of taxi drivers and owners in Athens and Attica SATA announced the extension of their strike for another 24 hours, that is for Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The union had already announced rolling strikes until there is a meeting with the Alternate Transport Minister in charge for the sector and satisfaction of their demands.
Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis has claimed that SATA president is lying to the union members, while the president Thymios Lymberopoulos asked the Prime Minister to replace him.
Earlier on Wednesday, state broadcaster ERT reported that in addition to the 24-hour strike on January 15 and 48-hour one is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20-21, 2026.
However, there is no official announcement for the 48h strike next week on SATA website by evening as KTG is writing this post.
