Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued a weather warning of a temporary deterioration with heavy rainfalls, thunderstorms, possibly local hail and stormy southern winds.
The bad weather front is forecast to hit Greece from tonight, Wednesday, February 4, in the northwestern parts of the country, while it will affect the remaining areas of western Greece, the northeastern mainland and the eastern islands tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Very strong south-southeast winds of intensity 8 and locally 9 Beaufort will be blowing on Wednesday until the evening in the Ionian Sea and tomorrow Thursday from the morning until the afternoon in the eastern Aegean Sea.
EMY Weather Warning
Locally heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms are forecast:
a. in the northern part of the Ionian Sea (area of Corfu, Diapontian Islands, Paxos) and Epirus from Wednesday evening until the morning hours of Thursday
b. in the rest of the Ionian islands (area of Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos) and western Central Greece from the early hours of Thursday until the afternoon
c. in the western and southern Peloponnese from early Thursday morning until late evening
d. in eastern Macedonia and Thrace from the early hours of Thursday until the night
e. in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean from noon on Thursday until the early hours of Friday, February 6
f. in the Dodecanese from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning.
