Athens Stock Exchange plummets following developments in the Middle East

Equity prices slumped on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) on Monday, March 2, 2026, amid losses in European markets following developments in the Middle East.

The basic share price was down 3.14 percent at 2,206,16 points at 11:00 and turnover was 61.33 million euros.

Stock markets are falling, the dollar, gold and oil are rising, as investors turn to safe havens due to the escalation of the US-Iran war.

Banking stocks are under strong pressure, with the index falling by 5.10%

The FTSE/ASE Large Cap index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 3.20 percent and the FTSE/ASE Mid Cap index was down 3.30 percent.

Of the stocks traded, 3 were up, 104 were down and 5 remained unchanged
