A huge sinkhole swallowed a big cleaning truck of the Municipality of Ioannina, north-western Greece early on Wednesday morning.
The sudden collapse of the road occurred outside a local high school school.

According to local media, it was a miracle that no one was injured in the event and the driver managed to come out by himself.
Emergency services arrived quickly to assess the scene and secure the area.

The causes of the sinkhole remains unknown and is currently being investigated by technical experts.
It is initially estimated that the cause is possible underground damage or failure of the road surface.
Traffic in the surrounding area has been temporarily disrupted as crews work to ensure public safety.
City officials have urged residents to remain cautious and avoid the immediate vicinity until further notice, while engineers examine the structural integrity of nearby roads.

According to local media epirusgate.gr, after the truck was removed from the sinkhole, efforts are underway to fill the sinkhole.
