There have been multiple reports of phishing messages sent to citizens, appearing as notifications of unpaid traffic fines and containing links inviting recipients to check the details or make immediate payment.
According to the Ministry of Digital Governance, these messages attempt to imitate public services or state agencies, using misleading wording and unofficial web addresses with the aim of deceiving recipients and stealing personal or banking details.
Public bodies do not send SMS messages asking citizens to follow a link to pay fines immediately or to enter sensitive information.
The National Cybersecurity Authority of the Ministry of Digital Governance reminded the public that phishing is an attempt to deceive, in which the sender impersonates a trusted entity and asks recipients to follow an electronic link or provide personal information such as passwords, identity details, bank account numbers, or card information.
