Bad weather front “Deborah” strikes Greece with rainstorms & snow, Mar 27-Apr 2

Bad weather front “Deborah” is striking Greece with storms, rainfalls, snow and a new temperature drop in the last couple of days of March, Greek meteorologist forecast.

Deborah is forecast to hit Greece on Friday, March 27, until Sunday, March 29, have a two-day break on Monday and Tuesday, and strike again Wednesday and Thursday, April 1-2, 2026.

Areas expected to be mostly affected are: Western Greece, Thrace, northern and eastern Aegean, Crete, southern Cyclades and the Dodecanese.

Western Greece is already at the epicenter of the cold front, while from Saturday noon until Sunday morning, the phenomena will occur in Thrace, the northern and eastern Aegean.

Rainfalls in the next few hours: Southern Cyclades and Dodecanese will be affected from Saturday to Sunday morning.

Deborah also affect Athens and Attica, with heavy showers to have poured down at noon and early afternoon on Friday.

According to the meteo service of the National Observatory of Athens, the most intense phenomena were in the northern and western regions of Attica, in Malakasa, Vlychada, Elefsina, Aspropyrgos, Avlona, ​​Parnitha, Vilia and Ippokratios Politeia

Snowfalls have been recorded in Tzoumerka and Metsovo in the mountainous areas of the region of Epirus in north-western Greece, with temperatures to have dropped to zero.

If the trend of the forecast models is confirmed, from Wednesday, April 1, strong bad weather with winter characteristics is expected again.
